Minister: Russian govt to raise pensions by 7% in 2019
MOSCOW, Jun 21 (PRIME) -- The Russian government will raise pensions by 7% in 2019, First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said Thursday at the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house.
“Our task is to raise (monthly) pensions on average by 1,000 rubles… This is certainly a significant growth, this is growth above inflation, like the president ordered in his addresses, in his decree. Such growth of pensions will amount to 7% to the level of last year,” he said.
In previous years, pensions were raised by the level of inflation, Siluanov said.
“This year, we expect inflation about 3%, while indexation of pensions will be 7%,” he said.
